AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS

For over 45 years Oyster Pools & Hot Tubs has been installing heating systems for its pool, swimspa and hot tubs customers.  In the past 25 years Heat Pumps have become on of the most efficient methods of heating their products

What is a Heat Pump and How Does It Work?

The brief answer is a device that is plumbed into the product. It then extracts heat energy from the outside air (the air doesn’t need to be hot) and using the technology inside the Heat Pump, increases and transfers this heat into the water.

Stage 1 – The fan on the heat pump sucks in air which then passes over refrigerated tubes. As the refrigerant is warmed up, it turns to gas.

Stage 2 – The heat pump then compresses the gas with its electric compressor which greatly increases the temperature of the gas.

Stage 3 – The superheated gas then passes through the heat pump’s internal heat exchanger which transfers the heat to the water passing through it.

Stage 4 – Once the heat is transferred to the water the gas cools and turns back to a liquid to complete the cycle.

NOTE:       Full Inverter technology adjusts the fan and the compressor, turning the heat pump into a smart pump. Therefore it is more stable. The compressor avoids sudden starts and stops. These energy savings add up to of over 35% compared with an ON/OFF pool heat pump.
