Keeping in touch with your hot tub
Love your hot tub so much that you might want to keep in contact with it whilst you are not at home?! Or perhaps, more sensibly, you are looking at ways to control your hot tub whilst you are not around, which can also be a very good way of controlling energy costs? Well, the Jacuzzi® SmartTub® system does exactly that and offers hot tub owners the technology to utilise various hot tub functions straight from their smart phones, from wherever they may be.
With the SmartTub® app you can control things like energy use and filtration, you can also change the temperature, lighting and jets as well. This is excellent for those who might want to prepare their hot tub from work for example, to be able to hop into when they get home. You may have a hot tub at your holiday home and want to put it to sleep when you are not there but have the ability to wake it up for use when you are on your way.
Get your hot tub ready for when you need it
Perhaps you might be out on a mountain trail run and didn’t think you would want to use your hot tub when you got back, but, you change your mind. Easily solved and a quick instruction via the app will get your hot tub up and running, ready for you to take your post run relaxation. Out shopping, feet aching from the pounding those pavements? Switch your tub on to sooth those aches away when you get home. Just preparing to board a long-haul flight and likely to suffer from jet lag? Get your hot tub ready and waiting for a wonderful long soak which will help you catch up on some precious quality sleep. We could go on, but you get the idea and the benefits!
Another usage of the SmartTub® system is to set up remote monitoring of your hot tub. The system can send real-time alerts and diagnostics, energy usage reports and can relay any power outages direct to you.
The system does require you to have use of a smartphone, which for most of us these days is not a problem. Operated via an app to your phone, SmartTub® is available both from the App Store or Google Play, easy to download and use! The first year of use is free with a subscription-based service from the second year. The app is also very simple to get used to, with simple instruction and graphics to help you contact and instruct your hot tub.
It is worth noting that, because this system is designed predominantly for use to contact your hot tub when you are a distance away, it functions via cellular networks and not wi-fi and therefore data usage for connecting to the app would be charged via your data package through your network supplier.
Whilst the SmartTub® system is incredibly useful it does not take the place of regular physical inspection and maintenance of a hot tub. The remote system therefore should not be relied upon as a substitute for regular physical inspection and monitoring of the hot tub.
SmartTub is available for all newer Jacuzzi® models and can be retrofitted to older models from 2017 onwards
